Phase 6: Expansion – Launched in 2020 On June 9th, 2020, Toronto Mayor John Tory and the Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) announced the expansion of Bike Share Toronto for the 3rd time in 3 years under Shift Transit’s operational leadership. An additional 1,850 bikes, 160 stations, and 3,615 docking points were added during this phase.

Bike Share Toronto is a bicycle-sharing system in Toronto, Canada.The system consists of 6850 bicycles and 625 stations, and covers over 200 square kilometres (80 square miles) of the city, from Finch Avenue in the north, Rouge Park in the east, Lake Ontario to the south, and to Long Branch to the west. Bike Share Toronto recorded 3,575,000 trips in 2021.

Toronto Bike Share bikes are super easy to rent, especially if you use the app. There are almost 7,000 bikes and over 600 stations across Toronto, and since Toronto Bike Share is completely self-service, you can rent them 24/7. You can either purchase a bike pass at a station kiosk, or purchase it through the PBSC app.

Bike Share Toronto has ramped up cleaning during COVID-19, however, it strongly recommends users take appropriate measures as outlined by City of Toronto’s COVID-19 Health Advisory which includes practicing physical distancing; hand washing and use of hand sanitizer; and to clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

I LOVE BIKE SHARE. I have had an annual membership for more than 10 years. I haven't used it as much lately because of the pandemic, of course, but I regularly take advantage of the system. In fact, I used it earlier today. As others have said, though, the various price points are for system access to bikes for up to 30 minutes.

Bike Share Toronto system hit a new record on August 8 and 9, 2020, with the highest number of rides in a single weekend. There were over 42,500 trips taken on those days. In the last 12 months, year over year ridership has increased by 20 per cent, from 2,186,916 rides to 2,633,666 rides.
